It all started when...
Richard is a Brass and Woodwind multi-instrumentalist, Vocal Teacher and Musical Director based in the West Midlands.
After studying trumpet and bassoon through school and college Richard studied trumpet under Simon Barnes at Leeds College of Music, whilst also gaining valuable vocal experience from Opera North. Following his experience in jazz and classical music Richard embarked on a career of teaching and playing.
He can now often be found playing with function and big bands on both trumpet and saxophones and also is in demand as a musical director, choirmaster and vocal coach.
Throughout his career he has been fortunate enough to work with such luminaries as Josh Groban, Russell Watson, Joss Stone, Dominic Miller, Katherine Jenkins, Marisha Wallace, Al Wood, Omar Puente, Trevor Vincent and Django Bates.
Whilst developing as a teacher and educator, Richard has worked tirelessly to find new opportunities to pursue his love of music and has completed an MA in developments surrounding contemporary techniques in the female voice. As well as professional engagements Richard has begun to develop his composing with The Conservatory Project, and works tirelessly as a musical director and arranger for big bands, choirs, touring artists and musical theatre companies.
